Dr Solomon Adepoju is a seasoned educator and researcher currently holding the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the prestigious Federal University of Technology Minna. With an extensive career spanning over 18 years within the university, my contributions to the field of computer science extend across teaching, research, mentorship, and academic leadership.
Teaching has been a cornerstone of my career, and I have imparted knowledge to countless students in a variety of courses, ranging from foundational subjects like Introduction to Computer (CPT111) and Introduction to Programming (CPT121) to specialized and advanced topics such as Advanced Database Management System (CPT519) and Current Trends in Computer Science (CPT512). My commitment to fostering academic excellence is evident in the postgraduate courses I have taught, including Human Computer Interaction (CPT718), Research Methodology (CPT715), and Modelling and Simulation (CPT716).
In the realm of research, my impact is reflected in a robust publication record contributing more than 60 papers to peer-reviewed journals and conferences. My research interests span a wide spectrum of computer science domains, contributing to the contemporary discourse and advancements in the field. As a testament to my commitment to the academic community, I actively engage in conferences at both national and international levels, staying abreast of the latest developments and contributing to the global dialogue.
My dedication to mentoring the next generation of scholars is evident in my supervision of six master's students who have successfully graduated under my guidance. Currently, I am supervising and co-supervising more than ten Ph.D. students, nurturing their research pursuits and preparing them for impactful contributions to the academic and professional spheres.
In addition to my teaching and research roles, I have served as an internal examiner for numerous Master's and Ph.D. students within the university, contributing to the maintenance of academic rigor and standards. My leadership has been acknowledged through various awards, including the Best Oral Presenter award in the Information System Track at the 2nd International Conference on Information Technology and Applications (ICTA) in 2018.
Throughout my academic journey, I have been a recipient of prestigious awards, including the Best Student in Overall Performance at Ondo Boys' High School and the Polytechnic Scholar recognition at Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State. Furthermore, I received the National Mathematical Centre, Abuja Scholarship award for the academic year 2000-2001, and the Deans' Merit Award in the School of Science and Science Education at the Federal University of Technology Minna from 2000 to 2002.
