Students can advocate for themselves and let me know they would like to have a check in by using the "I need to see the school counselor" form that all teachers have in their classroom.
Grown ups, if you would like to set up a meeting to discuss your student, email will be the quickest way to get ahold of me.
Teachers may also reach out to me to do a check in with a student.
When meeting with students, what they tell me will remain confidential (private). I will not tell others what we talk about unless one of three exceptions:
1- Student harms self
2- Student harms others
3- Someone is harming the student
A student may also give me permission to talk with another grown up about what was shared in our check-in.
