Welcome to Room 29

Please find an overview of FUSD's Safety Procedures by clicking HERE.

Everyday, families need to complete a home-based screening before coming to school.

If your child is showing any symptoms or has been exposed to someone that is showing symptoms or has a positive case of COVID-19, please follow the steps on this flowchart.

If you plan on traveling over the holidays, you be will required to follow Alameda County Office of Education's Travel Guidelines.

The safety of everyone is our top priority. If your child is showing ANY symptoms (loss of taste/smell, difficulty breathing, vomiting, diarrhea, fever of 100 or higher, cough, severe headache, sore throat, or runny nose), please do not send them to school. They will be sent to the office for you to pick up. After they have been picked up, you may choose to have them isolate, get tested, or visit your healthcare provider for an alternate diagnosis. See the flowchart for more information. Your child cannot come back to school until one of those three options have been followed.

School is important, but your child's health and the health of our community is more important. If your child is ill or isolating, please see the weekly overview on the calendar and news page to see what instruction they may have missed. All class materials are posted on our google classroom, which students can log on to from home. If a child is out for illness, we can always catch them up when they return.

If your child has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, was masked at the time of exposure and is not showing any symptoms, they may be eligible for a modified quarantine.

FREE COVID TESTING at Oliveira

FUSD is offering free, on-site COVID testing to all staff and students once a week. The best way for all of us to stay safe is to test regularly. You will register once, then come to Oliveira on Thursday between 7:00 am - 3:00 pm to help your child administer the test. (Parents must be present for students to take a COVID test.)

A Note About Materials

At this point, most materials students need have been purchased using classroom funds. Your child is welcome to bring their own materials and use those instead, or to donate community supplies for future use. I am also happy to accept donations through my school bucks to replenish our class account. More information is available under the curriculum section on the parent portal page. However, please don't worry about getting to the store if you haven't been able to yet, we've got it covered! Thank you for your donations!
