Good afternoon, Parents!
Today the students and I launched the use of the Writer's Notebook (WN), or composition book. Students were introduced to the use of a sticky note to write the day's topic in question form. In addition, they were introduced to restating the topic in a statement. They are off to a strong start :D
The students shared their knowledge in how to access clipart images using the Google search engine. The classroom was abuzz :D This reinforced their preparation for this spelling quiz. Moreover, the students are learning to connect the image with the word.
REMINDERS:
This Friday, the 13th, students will take their second Spelling Quiz.
Next Wednesday, 09/18th is the Panther Prowl! Please consider donating to this wonderful cause as the focus is fundraising for outdoor improvements such as recess equipment, a shed for the Kinder playground, and possibly a soccer field :D
Please consider volunteering for our Panter Prowl :D There is an application available on the PES website or Ms. Dil's Patterson Panther Newsletter.

Happy Thursday, Parents!
Expect to see your child's Thursday Folder :D In it will be a PTA Newsletter and scored work. Last week's quizzes are included: spelling and Math Unit 1.
All students received a score of 3 (the highest score) on both quizzes. This was due to both quizzes being the year's introduction to the format and procedures. Going forward, however, students will be scored accordingly.
Feedback was provided. Stars denote "correct" whereas a circle means "incorrect." On the Math Unit 1 Quiz, the actual score was highlighted in yellow.
Be blessed :D
