Hello, I am Ms. Christine Wilson-Pagtakhan

I live in Livermore with my family and two cats, Mocha & Latte. I love to binge watch TV shows & movies, reading, and traveling. I have traveled all over the world. So far my favorite spot in the world is Rome, Italy. I am hoping to make my next stop Australia and New Zealand. I am a graduate of James Logan High School in Union City.

I earned a B.A. in Communicative Disorders - Deaf Education Option at University of California, Fresno. I also received my General Education and Special Education teaching credentials at California State University, Fresno, and continued my education there, earning a Master’s Degree in Communicative Disorders - Deaf Education Option. I started my career teaching for San Joaquin County Office of Education where I taught Deaf and Hard of Hearing students at Lincoln High School in Stockton, California.  After five years in Stockton, I returned to the Bay Area to teach for Fremont Unified. As a teacher for Fremont Unified, I have taught  K/1 Special Day Class (SDC), 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades. I also worked at the district office as an instructional coach. I currently hold an administrative credential which I will probably never use. I can't imagine leaving the classroom.

I am excited to explore your child's strengths in a supportive, inclusive environment that celebrates diversity, encourages academic risk taking, and promotes the development of positive behavioral and social emotional skills.

I am committed to providing quality and meaningful instruction. I hope to build independence and a love of learning. I can't wait to go on this unique adventure with you!

During the first few weeks of school, I will be introducing the students to the classroom routines and assessing them which will allow me to see where your child is after a 'year of distance learning' and a ‘summer of fun’. This information will help me determine what WE can do to help your child have a successful school year. I say “WE” because to make digital learning a success this year, your child and I will need your help from time to time.

The first question I always get from parents is “what can I do to help my child be successful in school”. The single most predictor of success is the amount your child reads.

Research is clear: The single most important thing you can do to enhance your children’s knowledge of words is to lure your children into lots and lots and lots of reading; if children read a diverse range of books they’ll encounter a wider range of words.  It is my hope that you will help your child create a rich reading life at home.
