Math 3 Eighth Grade
We have a new textbook this year and will be transitioning a new textbook, McGraw/Hill in most Math instruction here at Walter Middle School. I am glad you child is in my class and I am sure it will be a great year for all of us. There are a few things I would like to share with you about the curriculum. It is new to me and most of the students. So there may be a few growing pains along the way. Please feel free to get in touch with me if there is any confusion over a homework assignment. I appreciate your input and your opinions.
For starters: Things your child will need to be successful in my class are paper, pencils, and a three ring binder. I expect students to be alert and attentive during instruction and during seatwork and group work. If a child isn't on task I will warn them and then if it continues I will contact home. Also students must be in their seats and quiet when the bell rings to start class. Please make sure your child is doing their homework regularly. It can always be checked on Aeries. I allow one late homework per quarter and then it will be at my discretion. If a student isn't prepared for class I will let them borrow what they need and also note in their agenda that they were not prepared for class. If this continues I will contact you.
This year your students will be using consumable textbooks, however, I want all homework to be on a separate piece of paper so I can collect them and the book will stay intact.
