Work Permits for Students - California Dept of Education...click here 🖱️) 

Guidelines: (SUMMER 2025 Work Permit, please follow this LINK)

  1. Students (who are minors under 18 years old) - must have a social security number in order to be eligible for a work permit.

(Student without a social security number, please see me in person for further discussion). 

  1. First, get a job offer. Then complete and sign the Work Permit Form, and bring it in person to College & Career Center. If absent, you may drop off the form to your attendance clerk.

  2. All job must be physically presence (no online job allowed), and the wet ink signatures of you, your parent and the employer (no e-signing)

  3. Parents: Please remember to ensure that your child and their potential employer are observing all federal, state, and local laws and guidelines so that health and safety precautions are followed as per CDE.


❇️ Very important ❇️ :

  1. Request forms and work permits with your Social Security Number should never be emailed back and forth electronically due to identity theft, hacking, and other risks.

  2. All work permit will expired one week into the new school year or until you switch employers. 

  3. Student must maintain better than a cumulative 2.0 GPA overall with no F grades recently and good attendance, or your work permit request will be denied, or the permit will later get revoked. Grades will be checked at the end of each quarter.

  4. Work Permit will be available to pick on Wed and Friday ( processing time is at two school days) during lunch or after school. 

  5. Student needs to sign and pick up your work permit personally.
