"Play isn't a luxury. It's a necessity."
Why is play so important? Providing daily opportunities for children to learn through play can be engagaing and meaningful. Play helps students to develop skills that set the foundation to be life long learners. Through play, children are able to learn and make connections between the physical world and abstract concepts. It improves the cognitive, physical, social and emotional well being of children.

A great way to promote play and learning in the classroom is through the use of centers. This year, I have rearranged my classroom into various centers to promote all the benefits of play as well as to promote independence and responsibility! The centers accommodate different learning styles of students and allows them to demonstrate the correct use of materials while staying on task and learning at the same time. Students can explore and experiment throughout each center while remaining focused and engaged.
