Physical Education Attire
One of the nice things about middle school is being able to dress out for your PE class every day. Please take your clothes home at least once a week to wash them. You will dress out every day. You will have your own locker and you are expected to take care of your clothes and lock any possessions.
Be sure to lock your locker every day to secure your clothes!
You can purchase P.E. clothes at Horner throughout the school year. All clothes will be marked during the first week of school with your first and last name. You will need a good pair of tennis shoes that ties and clean socks (no vans, slippers, boots, crocs, or sandals). For safety precautions please wear tennis shoes. Sweats are encouraged during cold weather. Sweats should be white or light grey with your name on the outside.
Students who need to be covered for religious reasons or medical issues have the option to purchase a long sleeve t-shirt. Do Not graffiti, cut or alter your PE clothes or you will have to purchase new ones. Clothes prices are as follows:
T-shirt 15.00 Shorts 15.00 Long sleeve T-shirt 22.00 Horner bag 5.00 Horner lock 7.00
Locker Room etiquette
Cellphones need to be put away before entering locker room and cannot be out.
Students will have 3 minutes to change into PE attire each school day. (No changing in the restrooms)
Enter the locker room, quickly get dressed, and go to your assigned area. Do Not stand around in the locker room.
Make sure to lock your valuables up. The school and staff are NOT responsible for any items lost or stolen. You must lock your locker before you leave the locker room. If you need loaners see a teacher asap.
No sharing clothes, use Horner combination lock, use appropriate language, be respectful, follow directions, do not spray anything, and report any lock changes to your pe teacher.
Be in the locker room before the bell.

ABSENCES - UNEXCUSED
Unexcused absences are those absences that are not verified by a parent/guardian and that do not meet the California codes for excused absences. Those codes are available in the parent handbook. Unexcused absences may result in disciplinary consequences or a referral to SARB.
ABSENCES - TRUANCY: Any student who is absent from school without a valid excuse for three full days in one school year or tardy or absent for more than any 30-minute period during the school day without a valid excuse on three occasions in one school year, or any combination thereof, is a truant (Education Code 48260). After a student has been declared truant, any subsequent absences or tardiness that are unexcused will also be declared truancies. Students with excessive truancies will be reported to the district’s office of Student Support Services, and the parent will be contacted. Unresolved truancies may result in the student and parent/guardian being referred to the FUSD Student Attendance Review Board (SARB). This may also lead to a hearing held at the Fremont Police Station.
TARDINESS: Students arriving late to school after the tardy bell for period 1, should go directly to the office for a pass to class. All students are required to get a pass from the office to enter period 1 after the tardy bell rings. Students have passing time from one class to the next. Students who are not in their classrooms by the tardy bell will be marked tardy by the teacher. Any student who arrives to periods 2-6 more than 5 minutes late, will be sent to the office for a pass to explain why they were tardy to class. Students will then be admitted into their classes with a late pass from the office. Students with excessive tardies will receive after-school detentions.
