Walters Middle School & Fremont Adult and Continuing Education
Hi, I’m Karen Castillo Rivera! I’m an English Language Development (ELD) teacher and CAASPP Test Administrator at G. M. Walters Middle School, and I also teach at Fremont Adult and Continuing Education. With over four years of experience, I’ve had the joy of helping multilingual learners build confidence and succeed both academically and personally.
My background in teaching, childcare, and administration has shaped me into a flexible and empathetic educator. I love creating welcoming, student-centered classrooms, supporting families through English-Spanish translation, and using technology to make learning engaging and accessible.
I hold a B.A. in Bilingualism with an Emphasis in English, a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in ELD, and a CAASPP Test Administrator Certification. Above all, I’m passionate about empowering students to discover their voice and reach their full potential.
Intervention class:
At Walters Middle School, I also lead an English Language Development intervention group, supporting students who need extra help building academic English.
