The IHS Chamber Chorale is an advanced mixed vocal ensemble that will expand your knowledge of vocal music, ethnomusicology (music from other cultures), music history, pedagogy, and theory. Chosen music will include a wide variety of styles and periods in search of training and developing the students’ maturing voices. While the majority of our time will be spent on singing and vocal technique, we will spend time on expanding knowledge of music theory and discussion surrounding the history and interpretation of chosen pieces. By audition only. Open to 10-12 grade students. Outside performances and rehearsals are required. 5 units per sem.

The IHS Encore Choir is an intermediate mixed vocal ensemble that will expand and build on your existing your knowledge of vocal music, ethnomusicology (music from other cultures), music history, and theory. It is ideal for those wishing to build on their current skills . Chosen music will include a wide variety of styles and periods in search of training and developing the students’ maturing voices. The majority of our time will be spent on singing and vocal technique, expanding knowledge of music theory and discussion surrounding the history and interpretation of chosen pieces. Open to all students. Outside performances and rehearsals are required. 5 units per sem.

It is ideal for those beginning to explore singing. Chosen music will include a wide variety of styles and periods in search of training and developing the students’ maturing voices. While the majority of our time will be spent on singing and vocal technique, we will spend time expanding knowledge of music theory and discussion surrounding the history and interpretation of chosen pieces. This is a women's barbershop octet that meets during adivosry period each week. This ensemble works on honing skills necessary for singing 4 part barbershop harmony, with two members on each part. Open to 10-12 grade treble voices enrolled in a choir. By audition only.
This is a select advanced mixed ensemble which meets during advisory period each week. This ensemble expands on thier knowledge, concentrating on jazz styles, repertiore, and structure. Open to 11th and 12th grade students by audition only.
This is a bass voice barbershop octet which meets during adivosry period each week. This ensemble works on honing skills necessary for singing 4 part barbershop harmony, with two members on each part. Open to 10-12 grade Tenros and Basses enrolled in a choir. By audition only.
