Required Materials (*EVERY DAY!*)

           * ½” hardcover 3-ring binder for English papers only               OR a divided section in larger binder

*Blue or black ink pen (No other colors will be accepted)

*Any color highlighter

*Binder paper (A LOT!)

*Horner planner (to write down homework, if any)

*Colored pencils or markers

*Scissors, glue or glue stick

*Personal water bottle (Water ONLY, if desired—no faucet runs!)

Grading Scale: Weighted

Writing                                       30%

Projects/Presentations                 25%

Quarterly English Binder Check        20%

Quizzes                                       15%

Participation/Presence                 10%

*NO EXTRA CREDIT*

LATE WORK POLICY: NO LATE CLASS WORK ACCEPTED. Late = any time after assignment was asked for in your class period. Exceptions made for IPE/504 plans with 48 hour prior approval. Late PROJECTS will be marked down 10% for each day late. No mark down for excused absence if work is ready to turn in upon return to class.  Key to success: PLAN AHEAD!

MS. MONK’S TARDY POLICY: Students must be completely seated BEFORE the bell BEGINS to ring.  Running into the classroom and/or leaping into the seat in an attempt to beat the bell will result in an automatic tardy!
