Expectations

My hope for students is that they have an internal motivation to follow these expectations, not because they are getting rewards. However, I do have some rewards that I will use to show appreciation for students who are following expectations. 

• Praise

• Shout-outs

• Positive notes/phone calls home

• Team points

• Classroom awards and rewards

Consequences occur whenever a student chooses to  break an expectation. 

• Warning

• Quick check in with teacher

• Discussion with teacher during recess

• Responsibility slip

• Call home

• Apology letters

I typically try to use logical consequences, so these are not the only consequences I may use.

 For example: If a student runs to get in line first, they have to go to the back of the line because they did not go to the line properly the first time.
