Chadbourne Newsletter

Thank you Room 29

Thank you Room 6

Hello Pioneers! Here is a message from our Principal:

Dear Parents/Guardians: Happy April

We would like to remind all of our families to please obey all traffic laws and safety rules when picking up your children after school. It is also important for parents to reinforce with our children good safety practices and following the law when crossing the street, including walking their bikes in crosswalks and on campus.  Parents, please always use the crosswalk when crossing the street.

We are happy to announce that this month CFFA is presenting Bollywood Night again at Chadbourne. This is a great family event for our entire school population.  I hope to see you there!

I hope you all have a wonderful Spring Break.  Students please take time to rest and hopefully enjoy some lovely Spring weather.

April begins our annual SBAC Testing for grades 3 - 6.  Students will start testing April 19th and go through May 12th.  Teachers will let you know their specific schedules when it gets closer.  Please remember to make sure your child gets plenty of sleep and healthy meals during this time.  Also remember that a healthy breakfast is very important. We want our students to have “fuel” for their minds every day. I’ve seen how hard our students are working in their classrooms and I know they are well prepared for the upcoming testing period. Thank you, parents, for the educational support you are giving to your children by helping them with homework and studying, as well as making sure they are turning in their assignments and are well rested. Your support and attention makes such a huge difference to their success!

Again, we would like to remind all of our families that the afternoon valet service at Chadbourne will remain closed. Please obey all traffic laws and safety rules when picking up your children after school. It is also important for parents to reinforce with our children good safety practices and following the law when crossing the street.  Parents, please always use the crosswalk when crossing the street.  Every time.

Happy Spring!

Mrs. Pedrotti – Principal

Please watch for a “FALL 2023-2024 Reservation/Registration Form” to be mailed home soon for each student currently enrolled in TK – 6th grade.   The form will not be handed out to parents and serves 2 purposes:  it reserves a spot for your child next year at Brookvale and also fulfills the District’s mandated annual residency verification via USPS.

Please don’t mistake the form for junk mail and toss it out!

For students who will be moving on to junior high school next year, Brookvale will collect the form and communicate with Thornton to confirm a space will be reserved at Thornton for next year.

By submitting the required form and Residency Proofs by February 24th, your child will be reserved a space for next year.

Office Business and Visitor Policy:

Chadbourne is a closed campus. Anyone coming on campus must check into the main office before going on campus. If authorized, parents sign into the office, get a Volunteer badge, and stay with the classroom teacher until they sign back out. All visitors / volunteers must be cleared through FUSD Civi Core and be pre-approved by the teacher and principal before entering campus.

Parents may park on the city street, avoiding all staff parking lots, with the exception of the proper use of the Disabled parking space for those clearly displaying a Disabled Placard, and available on a first come first served basis. When possible our office staff prefers to support parents and families via email or phone. Please be sure your child(ren) has all of their belongings (jacket, backpack, lunch, water bottle, etc.) upon school arrival.   If you are needing to drop something on emergency basis for your students, you may bring it to the school office. A notice will be placed in the teachers mailbox. For birthdays, please make sure you have the teachers pre-approval prior to dropping anything off to the office, as we cannot disturb class time unnecessarily.

Parent Behavior

Please be an example to our students. Lets make the next generation the best they can be. Please make sure when you are visiting to mind all laws and be courteous to all staff members and neighbors.  Please also show students how to safely use sidewalks and crosswalks, walking bikes on sidewalks and on campus, avoiding walking through all staff parking areas.
