Cheer team tryouts will be held the first week of the 3rd and 4th quarter. The Show Cheer and All Girl Stunt competitions will be held on Thursday, May 14th at 6:30pm at Florence High School. Please read below for further details about the cheerleading season.
Competition Format - There will be one competition held in the fourth quarter comprising two categories: Show Cheer and All Girl Stunt. Teams may choose to compete in one or both categories.
Show Cheer Category
Routine length is 2 minutes 30 second
Includes a music section featuring stunts, tumbling, dance, and jumps and a cheer section.
Teams size: 7-24 athletes (male and/or female) depending on roster size.
All Girl Stunt Category
Routine Length: 1 minute
Includes stunting only
Team Size: Up to 5 female athletes
Competition Team Commitment - Athletes selected for the competition team must commit to cheering in both the third and fourth quarters. Any student who would like to be on the competition team must try out at the start of the 3rd quarter, and is committing to be on the team for both the 3rd and 4th quarter.
Single Quarter Athletes - Athletes who choose to cheer for only one quarter will participate in sporting events and may serve as alternates for competition.
