Let's Celebrate Computer Science!

A Virtual Celebration of Coding and More with W.F. Killip Elementary School and Community Experts

December 7th-11th, 2020

Welcome to our first remote Computer Science Education Week celebration!

Last year we enjoyed a Night of Code with our students, their families, and community members. This year we expanded to a whole week of computer science fun-filled learning experiences.

Although Computer Science Education is over for 2020, it does not mean that the learning stops. This website will continue to be available to you. If you have suggestions for additions to the site, please let Mrs. Wells know through Canvas or email her at swells@fusd1.org.

What is Computer Science?

Computer Science is the study of computers and computing, including their theoretical and algorithmic foundations, hardware and software, and their uses for processing information. - Britannica

Computer Science Education Week is held yearly in recognition of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Hopper. She was born on December 9, 1906.

Pages and Activities

Activities will be taking place online all week. Some sessions will be live and others are recorded. We also have fun computer science activities such as coding that you can do online and some offline activities as well. We hope you have fun.
