About

Our Mission and Purpose

The Functional Life Performance Foundation (FLPF) was created in January 2020 to remove barriers for individuals wanting to improve their health and fitness. There are people who want to improve their health, but have to make choices between health and paying for basic essentials like rent, food, medicine, or gas to get to and from work. We want to help those individuals who want to improve, specifically among economically disadvantaged children, veterans, people of color, LGBTQ+, and those struggling with addiction.

The local Reebok outlet has been a great partner for the Foundation.

Key Foundation Relationships

Client - Individual or group receiving services from the Foundation.

Partner - Individual or group working with the Foundation to service Clients.

Donor - Individual or groups financially supporting the Foundation.

How We Work

FLPF works to accomplish this Mission by sharing knowledge and information; connecting our clients with our partners, and funding fitness services for our clients. In addition to improved health and fitness, we also feel our clients will develop essential life skills through participating in Crossfit® as it requires discipline and commitment, developing a plan to improve, and measuring progress and achievements.

Client Expectations

Our clients are expected to:

  • commit to a plan;

  • set tough, but achievable goals;

  • work to achieve their goals (repeatedly, even when they inevitably fail);

  • respect our partners and our partners’ facilities; and

  • identify and mentor other FLPF clients.

Partner Expectations

Our partners are expected to:

  • treat our clients like their clients:

  • commit to working with them,

  • develop reasonable, yet challenging goals for them,

  • hold them accountable,

  • be a positive role model for them,

  • keep them safe;

  • report periodic status of our clients to FLPF;

  • not charge FLPF retail rates for services for our clients (any discounts offered will be considered a charitable contribution which is tax-deductible);

  • identify other clients in need; and

  • provide feedback on how we can improve our services.
