Course Description
Independent Study is a full-year course where advanced students work on their own in order to identify portfolio goals and develop, improve, and complete their portfolios by researching and designing their own art projects, following through, revising, and reflecting. Your progress will be tracked through a sketchbook and portfolio, and your grades will be based on completing artwork on time, applying your skills creatively, using design elements, craftsmanship, and meeting project requirements.

Quarter 1
Unit 1 Portfolio Goals and Projects 1-2
I can analyze my existing portfolio for strengths and weaknesses in order to establish a goal for the course.
I can research and design my own projects based on several criteria, then revise and focus my plan based on feedback and discussion.
I can work independently on my projects while maintaining communication and meeting deadlines.
I can reflect and evaluate my own work based on established criteria and rubrics.
Quarter 2
Unit 2 Portfolio Goals and Projects 3-4
