Dear FJHS Families, August 25th, 2023
As we embark on a new school year, it is with immense pride that I am beginning my first full year as the principal of Fulton Junior High School. This is my 26th year in the Fulton City School District and my 25th year at the Fulton Junior High School. I am honored to serve you and your child(ren) as the principal. I started my journey as a substitute teacher in the spring of 1998. From there, I was hired as the social studies teacher on the 7 Green Team which I held for 21 years. During that time, I have coached several district scholastic teams, was the staff advisor for Student Council, the FJHS social studies department facilitator along with serving on various building committees. In the spring of 2018, I became the Dean of Students followed by being appointed as the Assistant Principal later that summer.
I would like to take a few moments to update you that Assistant Principal Mrs. Sheldon has been appointed as the next Fulton City School District’s Director of Student Supports. Over the summer, an extensive search for the next assistant principal commenced. I am excited to share with you that Mrs. Hannah Platt now serves as the next Assistant Principal of the FJHS.
Mrs. Platt comes to the FJHS from Cato-Meridian Central School where she has held several posts that included being a classroom teacher, summer school administrator, Family Engagement Coordinator, along with being a student-teacher mentor. In addition, Mrs. Platt has classroom experience working in the Syracuse City School District along with several schools in Colorado. Mrs. Platt joins our FJHS Family with the necessary skills, professionalism, and experience to immediately step in to make a positive impact for our students, our staff, and our community. Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Platt to our FJHS Family!
I look forward to work with all of you to build upon our foundation we have established over the last four years. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with our dedicated staff that continues to provide your child(ren) with an exciting, up-to-date curriculum. This curriculum creates a foundation that provides your child(ren) the opportunities to participate in multiple pathways to graduation here at the Fulton City School District.
Best wishes!
Eric P. Koproski
