Welcome to the course overview for Phys 155 at California State University, Fullerton.
Class Overview
This class is a general education science course that introduces students to quantum computers. I know that quantum computing can sound a little scary - but I promise, this course really is for everyone!
There is no math knowledge required beyond what you learned in algebra. We will learn about quantum particles (such as photons and electrons), how quantum particles can be in two places at once (not really, but sort of), what entanglement is, and how all these concepts come together to create a quantum computer!
How will you get a grade?
As long as you put in the effort, you can get an A or a B in this class - I promise! You will have the opportunity to resubmit every assignment for a better grade after receiving feedback, and you will get points for participating online and in class. There are no exams in this class!
For Fall 2025, this course will be offered as an online asynchronous class. All course instruction will happen online, with office hours held both online and in person at CSU Fullerton.
