Mammogram is a technique that is used for the early detection of breast cancer. It is a screening tool that helps to find tumors before they appear with the clinical symptoms. Breast cancer is the leading cause of the death of many women in their forties (National Cancer Institute, 2023). This procedure uses low-dose X-rays that help to create images of the breast tissue which are useful for the doctor in diagnosing any abnormalities or lumps in the breast. In the procedure of the mammogram the breast is compressed between two hard surfaces which helps to spread the breast tissues (American Cancer Society, 2023). Thus, it helps to easily view the tissue of the breasts for any detection of breast cancer.
