About the Rochester Taekwondo Club

The Rochester Taekwondo Club is a continuing work from 1976 in Pittsford, NY. This Taekwondo program seeks to promote both healthy mind and body. We use standards that have been set by the World Taekwondo (WT) and Kukkiwon along with the heritage passed on by Grand Master Kyongwon Ahn (past President of the US Taekwondo Union and Former Executive Committee of the WT). Through Sport Taekwondo, physical training, developing self defense skills and regular classes, students learn this ancient martial art. We associate with the Korean Taekwondo Moo Duk Kwan and Taekwon Moodo Association.

Grandmaster Robert K. Fujimura

Perinton Recreation Center is taught by Grandmaster Robert K. Fujimura - 8th Degree Black Belt. He brings over 5 decades of Taekwondo and martial arts experience as a national Taekwondo adminstrator, regional/state Taekwondo coach, Taekwondo international referee and Taekwondo instructor to hundreds of students. He currently serves as Technical Director of Liberty University Taekwondo Club, Treasurer of the Alpha Omega Taekwondo,Inc. [501(c)(3) non profit organization] and Secretary General of the US Taekwondo Grandmasters Society, Inc. [501(c)(3) non profit organization] and is a board member of US Moodo Won, Inc.

Master Brett Williams. He has taught at the club in multiple capacities since 2000. As a student, he competed in the tri-state area. After Taekwondo training and teaching both in New Jersey and New York he focused his attention to teaching, coaching and refereeing. Since moving to the teaching role, he has been certified as a USAT (And AAU) Forms and Sparring Referee and regularly updates himself with new rules and regulations through seminars. As a 5th dan (6th dan recommended) Master Instructor, he brings over 30 years of experience to his classes. He has earned the Kukkiwon Master Certification along with recognition as a Dan (black belt) Examiner. He is active in teaching and coaching.

Grandmaster Kyongwon AHN is the Honorary Senior Taekwondo Advisor for the Rochester Taekwondo Club. He as a first generation of bringing Taekwondo to the USA traveled from his home in The Republic of KOREA (South Korea) in 1967. As a 9th Degree Black Belt (1990 by Kukkiwon) he is a highly respected Taekwondo Master. He served as the President of the United States Taekwondo Union and was on the Executive Counsel of the World Taekwondo Federation.
