Greetings parents! My name is Scott Gordon. Fallbrook has been my home for many years as my family moved here in 1971. It truly was a quiet, rural town back then! I’m proud to share that, 50 years ago, the first school I attended in Fallbrook was La Paloma! I have been teaching in the FUESD for 32 years. Four years were spent teaching 5th grade in the classroom and 28 years guiding your children through Living History and Outdoor Education experiences at the De Luz Ecology Center. I’ve been married to my wife Jill for 31 years. She spent time as a public classroom teacher and as the director of her own homeschool program. Both of my children were raised in a homeschool setting and thoroughly thrived under this format. With this background, it is my goal to compassionately guide you and your child through this school year at the Fallbrook Homeschool Academy. I’m looking forward to our year together!

Important First Day of School/Edgenuity Information!
Hello families! My name is Scott Gordon. For many of you, welcome back to the Fallbrook Homeschool Academy! For those of you who are experiencing the Fallbrook Homeschool Academy for the first time, it's wonderful to have you on board! This year, you and your child will be utilizing a program called Edgenuity. It is an exciting, robust program that will provide for virtually 100 percent of your child's educational needs. As their parent or guardian, you will play a vital role in the success of this program as you help them navigate through this paced curriculum. As their teacher, my role will be to provide feedback on some of their completed activities, be your contact person at FHA, and help resolve any issues that may arise with the program. The program itself will correct most of the work accomplished on Edgenuity. This will help your child advance at a pace that is regulated by Edgenuity. At all times, Edgenuity will provide feedback to you and your child, letting you know what progress has been made and what grades have been achieved.
Since the program is paced, it is important that your student dedicates approximately one hour per day for each course that they are enrolled in. Once again, Edgenuity will continuously provide feedback, letting you know if your child is on target, ahead, or has fallen behind on their coursework. Please visit the home page in Edgenuity regularly to help monitor your child's progress. Most of our communication will take place through this main page on Edgenuity. You and your child can communicate with me from the conveniently accessed email section provided on the home page. There is also a section for messages, so be sure to check it each day when you log in.
When you sign in for the first time, and in the future, please use the link provided above. It will direct you to a video. Please be sure to watch this, as it will provide vital information on navigating through the Edgenuity program. It is also imperative that your child logs out of the program when they are finished for the day. If you experience any challenges, please feel free to contact me, and I will do my best to resolve them as quickly as possible. Edgenuity also has a dedicated staff of professionals that can help resolve any issue you may encounter.
As this is a new program for the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District, we will all be experiencing this for the first time together. We will, no doubt, be learning together! I have complete confidence in this program, as well as in our staff at FUESD, and I wish you and your child an exciting and fulfilling school year!
