About me

Hello, I am Ms. Norton, and I live in Oceanside, CA.   I have been teaching for the Fallbrook School District for 26 years, and I have taught all grade levels K-6.  Currently,  I teach fifth grade and I really enjoy the students because they are full of curiosity and enthusiasm.  

As a child, I grew up in a military family and lived abroad for most of my elementary school years.  I have lived all over the United States as well.   San Diego is where I have lived for over 37 years and have raised my four children, three daughters and one son.

One reason I became a teacher was I wanted to support children in their growth and learning, "the world is their oyster."  Also, I grew up in a military family and my fifth-grade teacher in SHAPE, Belgium, left a big impression on me.  She was firm but fair and loved sharing her knowledge with her students.  My grandmother was also a teacher and she taught Native American children in a one-room schoolhouse.   

I really enjoy technology and find it offers students a platform to learn and be expressive.  Technology also prepares them for the 21st Century jobs that have not even been created yet.  This year I will be teaching all subjects which I am excited about because I have a passion for all topics and enjoy blending learning.
