My name is Ms. DeLand and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year! It’s going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures. I want to know all about your child, but first I’m going to tell you a little bit about myself.

I was born and raised in California. After graduating from college, I couldn’t wait to start teaching! I taught Junior High SDC for five years, Kindergarten through third SDC for five years, and I have also worked as an Inclusion Specialist for two years. As some of you know, I was here at SOS the tale end of last school year and I am excited to begin the year here. Having teaching experience from Kindergarten through upper elementary will really help me challenge you student to reach for the stars this year.

This year you will be busy learning through hands-on activities, discovery lessons, and performance based tasks and projects that are all based on the Common Core Standards. I am so excited to be your child’s teacher and for your child to be part of this awesome all star class we have lined up this year. Enjoy your last days of summer vacation and I’ll see you soon!
