Ann Gentry

Middle School/High School Librarian

Welcome to my website. I am excited to help students learn the tremendous opportunities that can be found in the Frenchtown School/Community Library. Opportunities that will not only help them with their school work, but also with their life long enjoyment of reading.

I grew up in Greeley, Colorado and graduated from Greeley Central High School. I went on to Colorado State University where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Outdoor Recreation. After working for the Forest Service for two years, I went back to school at the University of Northern Colorado where I earned my teaching certificate. I then taught 7th and 8thgrade science for three years at Cache Middle School in Cache, Oklahoma before starting a family. When my oldest son was 5 months old, I moved to Galena, Alaska. While in Galena I worked in daycare, grant writing for the local school, and was a DJ at the public radio station. After 6 years in Alaska and the birth of my second son it was time for a change – time to move to Frenchtown, Montana. I began substitute teaching for the Frenchtown School District shortly after moving to Montana and was granted the opportunity to become the high school library aide in 2008. After working as the library aide for 4 years and earning my Masters in Library Science, I am now enjoying my position as the middle school/high school library media specialist.
