Frenchtown Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
We are so excited to kick off our One Book One Community event starting this week with the book, Almost Super by Marion Jensen! It is going to take everyone to make this amazing for the kids. In Frenchtown we pride ourselves on having a major love for reading and this is an opportunity for you to share the love of reading at home with your student.
What do you need to know?
· Starting Monday, January 23, 2023 to Friday January 27, 2023, we will be kicking off the first chapter of the book with each class during their Library time.
· On Monday, January 30, 2023, books will be sent home with each student! Each book will have a bookmark in it that will give you the timeline of the reading that we would recommend that you follow each night. Many classes throughout the school day will read the book aloud during class, but it is so important that parents take some time to read with their child or if age appropriate, have your child read to you each night.
· We will have reading/audio books in the library available during student lunch times for any student that missed the evening reading from the previous day, these readings will also be located on this website under the Events tab.
· At the end of each week we will have a trivia question that students can answer for a prize. They just have to fill out an answer page and turn it into the library.
· A bingo board will be handed out for students to follow along throughout the week!
· We will finish the final day of reading at the school by doing a stop, drop and read at 2:00pm on February 24, 2023!
Please help us make this a great community event. You are all super and we appreciate each and every day you show up for our kids!
Thanks,
Frenchtown School District
