Teaching and Education

My name is Erika Tierney. I am 28 years young! The 2017-18 academic year is my 6th year teaching for the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District and 3rd year teaching 2nd grade GATE here at KI Jones. I have previously taught grades k-3 at Rolling Hills and Anna Kyle Elementary School in Fairfield. ​

I earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Human Development from UC Davis in 2011. In 2013 I received a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Master of Arts Education degree also from UC Davis. In 2016 I completed supplemental coursework to earn a GATE Teaching Certificate from Fresno Pacific University.

Outside of School

I live in Fairfield with my husband Chris and grandmother Nancy. Chris teaches at Oakbrook Academy of the Arts and Nancy is a retired elementary teacher. Our pets are Stormy (a girl black lab mix), Frankie (a boy beagle), Louie (an orange tabby cat), lots of fish, and a few backyard chickens. Outside of school I enjoy planning projects, eating good food, and spending leisure time with friends, family, and pets.
