International Week Through the Years

We have been having performances since 2005!

Club Mission Statement:

“The students in the International Club perceive their own multicultural and ethnic backgrounds as valuable and worthy of sharing with their classmates, teachers, and community. The club is open to anyone who is interested in sharing and learning about different cultures, languages and lifestyles. The members of the club hope to increase awareness of the value of bilingualism. Through social and educational activities, the club would like to bring together people of many backgrounds and to support each other in our social, educational and vocational pursuits. Not only is it our goal to raise the consciousness of our student body of the value of multiculturalism, but to increase awareness within our language and ethnic groups.”

Objetivo del Club:

"Los estudiantes del Club Internacional perciben sus propios antecedentes étnicos y multiculturales como valiosos y dignos de compartir con sus compañeros de clase, maestros y la comunidad. El club está abierto a cualquier persona que esté interesada en compartir y aprender sobre diferentes culturas, idiomas y estilos de vida. Los miembros del club esperan aumentar la conciencia sobre el valor del bilingüismo a través de actividades sociales y educativas. Al club le gustaría reunir a personas de diferentes orígenes y apoyarse mutuamente en nuestras actividades sociales, educativas y vocacionales. No solo es nuestro objetivo aumentar la conciencia de nuestro alumnado sobre el valor del multiculturalismo, sino también aumentar la conciencia dentro de nuestro idioma y grupos étnicos."

What We Do

Armijo International Club celebrates International Week during the first week of May. The annual festival of music, dance and culture is always a success because of the high level of student and staff involvement. We enjoy beautiful Hula dancing, piano solos, guitar players from Guitar Club, Afro-Caribbean drumming, Filipino Tinikling, Indian dancers, and Cinco de Mayo Folklorico dancers and singers. The club is proud of their 17 year tradition and looks forward to many more years. If you are interested in learning about the diverse cultures at Armijo, or want to share yours, join International Club and help make each event amazing!

We always meet at lunch on Wednesdays, in E-3.

¿Qué hacemos?

Armijo International Club celebra la Semana Internacional durante la primera semana de mayo. El festival anual de música, danza y cultura siempre es un éxito debido al alto nivel de participación de los estudiantes y el personal. Disfrutamos de hermosos bailes de Hula, solos de piano, guitarristas del Club de Guitarra, tambores Afro Caribeños, tinikling filipinos, bailarines indios y bailarines y cantantes folclóricos del Cinco de Mayo. El club está orgulloso de su tradición de 17 años y espera muchos años más. Si está interesado en aprender sobre las diversas culturas en Armijo, o quiere compartir la suya, ¡únase al Club Internacional y ayude a que cada evento sea increíble!
