By Air: Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza (TIA) is the only airport serving Tirana, located about 17 km (10 miles) from the city center.
From the airport, you can reach the city via:
Taxi: Easily accessible outside the terminal. The ride to the city center takes around 20-30 minutes.
Airport Shuttle: “Luna Express” provides bus services between the airport and the city center, with departures every hour.
By Bus: If you’re traveling from nearby countries, international bus services connect Tirana with cities in Greece, Montenegro, Kosovo, and North Macedonia. The main bus terminal in Tirana is located at the north end of the city.
By Car: Tirana is accessible by road from many Balkan cities. If you’re driving:
From Athens, Greece: Approximately 8-9 hours (590 km)
From Skopje, North Macedonia: About 4 hours (300 km)
From Podgorica, Montenegro: Around 3 hours (150 km)
