Liborio Stuppia

Professor of Medical Genetics at the "G. d'Annunzio" University, Chieti-Pescara, Italy, and director of the laboratory of Molecular Genetics in the Center of Studies of Aging - Translational Medicine (CESI-MeT) at the same insistution. Liborio Stuppia has been the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Director of the Department of Psychological, Health and Territorial Sciences of the G. d'Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara up to October 2017. He has been also member of the Italian National Committee for Biosecurity, Biotechniques and Life Sciences. During the course of his research activity, Prof. Stuppia has mainly worked in the field of Molecular Genetics, with particular attention to the study of the genetic basis of congenital and adult onset diseases, such infertility of the couple, Leri Weill disease and analysis of mutations of BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes in patients with familiar Breast Cancer. The most recent filed of interest of Liborio Stuppia is represented by Amniotic Fluid Stem Cells as a model for the "in vitro" study of the effect of different environmental agents to the germ line differentiation and their genetic and epigenetic transgenerational effects. Liborio Stuppia is author of 222 scientific article published on International peer reviewed journal, with an h index of 32.
