Referrals are open year round
New students to FSHISD who come from an approved Gifted & Talented Program with background records are automatically accepted into the G/T Program .
2025-2026 Referral Cycle
September 12, 2025 - Last day to refer for assessment
September 18 to October 10, 2025 - Assessments

Referral
Students may be referred for G/T assessment year-round. Assessment windows are posted by campus. If you miss a window, the student will be assessed in the next round.
Students may be referred by themselves, a teacher, another student, or parent.

FSHE windows are fall and spring, see campus website for dates. Kinder and 1st graders are only assessed in the spring.
Cole window is fall only, see campus website for dates.
Referral Cycle
Students may be referred for testing at any time during the school year.
Once students are referred, their names are put on the list to be tested at the next opportunity.
Note that students in 6th through 12th grade are only assessed once a year in the Fall.
2nd through 5th grade students are assessed in the fall and the spring.
Kinder and 1st are only assessed in the Spring
Parents will be asked to complete the Renzulli assessment.
Students are assessed over the course of several days.
Following assessments, parents will be notified of the committee decision.
Students who are admitted to the G/T program will begin services after paperwork in sumitted and processed.
