The purpose of this course HOPE is to develop and enhance healthy behaviors that influence lifestyle choices and student health and fitness. Students will realize the full benefit of this course when it is taught with an integrated approach.

HOPE Standards

Course Title/Code: Physical Education - Grade 4 (#5015060)

This class is to encourage students apply learned skills in dynamic and complex environments and begin to refine sport-specific skills. Also, students will develop a understanding of the health benefits derived from regular participation in physical activity. They will learn to design a personalized fitness and nutrition program with the knowledge they have learned throughout Elementary PE classes.

4th Grade PE Standards

Course Title/Code: M/J Comprehensive Grades 7/8 (#1508700)

The purpose of this course is to build on previously acquired knowledge, skills, and values necessary for the implementation and maintenance of a physically active lifestyle. The course content provides exposure to a variety of movement opportunities and experiences which include, but is not limited to: Outdoor Pursuits/Aquatics, Individual/Dual Sports and Alternative/Extreme Sports. The integration of fitness concepts throughout the content is critical to student success in this course and in the development of a healthy and physically active lifestyle.

7th/8th Grade PE Standards

Course Title/Code: Physical Education - Grade 2 (#5015040)

This class will include activities working on overall Health Related and Skill Related Fitness, locomotor skills, non-locomotor skills, movement concepts, and cooperative skills, personal/social responsibilities, nutrition, and personal health.
