Changing Perspectives Curriculum
This year, the counseling staff piloted the Changing Perspectives curriculum in Grades 7 through 10. Changing Perspectives is a research-based program designed to promote empathy, inclusion, and social awareness among students. It aligns with the CASEL Core Competencies for Social and Emotional Learning: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
Through interactive lessons, discussions, and reflection activities, the curriculum encourages students to explore diverse perspectives, challenge stereotypes, and build inclusive communities. Each lesson is developmentally appropriate and tailored to foster critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and a deeper understanding of the experiences of others.
