At the Frontier Writing Center, everyone is a writer. Our objective is to encourage members of our school community to develop and improve their writing skills in a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free environment through both individual tutoring sessions and large group workshops. As tutors, we are open to feedback from our writers and our community on how we can adapt to the diverse writing culture that we continue to foster. We understand that part of being a tutor is learning and growing ourselves, in both writing skills and collaboration within our community.
We acknowledge and appreciate the distinct differences in the tutees we work with that lay the stitches of the tapestry of writing, prioritizing flexibility and making adjustments in our tutoring to meet the unique needs of the tutee’s learning process; no two sessions are alike. We encourage writers to draw on their own unique experiences and belief systems when developing their voice. We hope to cultivate an environment that leads to both writers and tutors recognizing the power of their own words and how these words shape their diverse voices.
