Our Vision:
Our young elementary students are natural language learners! They have the ability to learn a language with ease at a much faster pace than adults, if provided with the correct environment filled with comprehensible input. Students will gain knowledge and understanding of other cultures, connect with other school disciplines, compare the language and culture studied with their own language and culture, and participate in multilingual communities by using the language both within and beyond the school setting.
Our Program Goals:
Our main goal at the Elementary level is to reduce the inhibitions most adolescents experience when learning a world language. With a naturalistic approach, we enable students to communicate orally in the target language and comprehend language via the three modes of communication (interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational).
Student Expectations:
All students should come to World Language ready to learn with a positive attitude and be ready to take risks in the target language (Spanish)!
Students will be asked to attend class with their devices and headphones, as technology is integrated in all of our
K-4 lessons.
