Now that your initial query has been accepted, you will likely be contacted by an editor to discuss your project in more detail. While your query has drawn the attention of the publication, this does not ensure you will be published (or paid). When speaking with an editor, it is important to be professional and to be able to give knowledgable answer to any questions the editor has.

The Second Task: Defending your Topic and Research
When speaking with your editor (in this case, me) you should be prepared to explain how your topic fits in with the U.N. Global Goals. The editor is also likely to want to hear more about the topic and may want to consider ways to focus your article so that it is more specific.
At this time, it's also important to start your actual research. You should find and review at least five sources (be sure these are reliable) for your project. The next module will focus on the careful analysis and vetting of each of these sources.
Your topic defense will either take place during our next class meeting time. Be prepared to speak at length about your topic.
Once you have impressed your editor, it's time to set pen to paper (or fingers to keys). Click the button to move on to the next module.
