Teachers

I have been teaching for 28 years. I grew up at the shore in a small town called Pine Beach.  I taught at Barley Sheaf before the move to RFIS. My husband and I have two sons, Tyler, who is a financial planner and Austin, a freshmen in college. We have a German Shepherd named Sadie and an adorable Shih tzu, Oreo.  We love taking them on walks and playing in the backyard.  This summer has been fun for our Family.  We started our adventure by visiting my mom at the shore, attending football games, and visiting friends in various places.  We are huge fans of Rutgers and the Dallas Cowboys.  My favorite hobbies are drawing, painting, photography, gardening, water sports, fishing, and cooking on the grill.  I am looking forward to getting to meet and learn all about you!  

Welcome to 5th grade! This is my 21st year of teaching, and I'm very excited to share it with all of you!  I always believed I would be a teacher, even from a young age, and I enjoy getting to know new students every year.  We are going to have a great year together!

I grew up and currently live in Warren County with my own 2 kids. My son, Noah, just started high school in a technical school with a focus on electrical applications.  He wants to be an electrician!  My daughter, Lillian, just started her first year of middle school in 6th grade, which is exciting as well!  She gets to be on the safety patrol this year. We keep a very busy after school life, filled with karate, dance, and scouting, as well as dabbling in music (drums, piano, and flute).  We also find time to spend as a family at home or on day trips.  We love pizza movie night on Fridays and I often like to ask my students for new movie suggestions!

This summer, we visited the beach, a lake, and Dorney Park.  We also traveled to New Hampshire to see family and stopped at two national sites that we got to check off our National Park Passport books.  Weir farm was a quaint farm that was home to 3 generations of American artists.  Lowell, Massachussettes was home to a textile mill and the site of a large growth in immigrant and female factory workers in the early 1900s.  Both contained fascinating history about our country!  

At home, we have a lively crew of furball friends.  Dax is our 1 year old Blue Healer mix and certainly keeps us on our toes!  He's very smart, very energetic, and a great snuggler (when he's sleepy!) We also have 3 cats at home: Freddy FazCat, Lulu, and Rosie.  They are siblings and mostly get along with Dax...when he's not chasing them!  They're very sweet and snuggly.

I'm excited to get to know each of you this year, as well! I want to hear all about your families, your pets, your activities, and your summer adventures.  This is sure to be a wonderful 5th grade year for us all!
