I have been teaching for 27 years. I grew up at the shore in a small town called Pine Beach. I taught at Barley Sheaf before the move to RFIS. My husband and I have two sons, Tyler, graduated from Kean college in May and a 12th grader named Austin. We have a German Shepherd named Sadie and an adorable Shih tzu, Oreo. We love taking them on walks and playing in the backyard. This summer has been fun for our Family. We started our adventure by taking a Caribbean cruise, visiting my mom at the shore, attending football games, and visiting friends in various places. We are huge fans of Rutgers and the Dallas Cowboys. My favorite hobbies are drawing, painting, photography, gardening, water sports, fishing, and cooking on the grill.
Welcome to 5th grade! This is my 20th year of teaching, and I'm very excited to share it with all of you! I always believed I would be a teacher, even from a young age, and I enjoy getting to know new students every year. We are going to have a great year together!
I grew up and currently live in Warren County with my own 2 kids. My son, Noah, is wrapping up his middle school years in 8th grade this year. My daughter, Lillian, will also be in 5th grade this year, which is exciting as well! We keep a very busy after school life, filled with basketball, karate, dance, and scouting, as well as dabbling in music (drums, piano, and flute). We also find time to spend as a family at home or on day trips. We love pizza movie night on Fridays and I often like to ask my students for new movie suggestions!
This summer, we took an awesome trip to Chincoteague Island in Virginia where we stayed in a floating bungalow. It was so cool! We spent time on the beach, took a boat tour where we saw dozens of wild horses, ate lots of yummy food, and went crabbing. My kids each brought home their own hermit crabs, too! When we returned, we added a new puppy to our family. We adopted him from a rescue organization. His name is Dax and he is currently about 15 weeks old. We believe he his a Blue Heeler/Lab/Pitbull mix, and he is a bundle of energy! He's very smart and such a good dog already. He's learning new commands and tricks all the time. We also have 3 cats at home: Freddy FazCat, Lulu, and Rosie. They are siblings and are finally starting to adjust to a puppy in the house. They're very sweet and snuggly.
I'm excited to get to know each of you this year, as well! I want to hear all about your families, your pets, your activities, and your summer adventures. This is sure to be a wonderful 5th grade year for us all!
Welcome 5th graders! I am so excited to be one of your many wonderful teachers this year! This is my fourth year as a teacher at RFIS. I grew up in Flemington and was lucky enough to be an FRSD student as well as you all:)
I spent my whole life playing softball as well as playing softball in college at TCNJ. I am now apart of the coaching staff for the Hunterdon Central Varsity Softball team where I get to continue my love of the sport while helping younger athletes reach their goals.
This summer was jam packed with lots of fun trips with family and friends as well as enjoying my new home. I was lucky enough to get to go to Disney, a cruise to Bermuda, the Outer Banks, St. Petersburg Florida and Lake Placid New York. We also got to share our last trip of the summer with our new puppy Billy! We were trying to foster Billy and help him find a good home but instead realized he was the perfect fit for our little family:) He is now 3 months old and full of lots of energy and love!
I am so excited to be apart of your 5th grade year and cannot wait to make amazing memories!
