Mrs. Deneka

Hi! My name is Karin Deneka. I have been a part of the Flemington Raritan School District for over 20  years.  My time in the district has taken me to Robert Hunter as a grade 1 teacher and as a grade 5 teacher.  In 2005-2006 I had the pleasure of opening up RFIS.  My teaching career has spanned 30+ years.  I started my career in the West Orange School District.

My husband and I have 2  children. Our oldest  finished up his degree in sports media and our daughter is pursuing her degree in nursing. Both of our kids are proud Hunterdon Central graduates, Jonathan in 2018 and Alli in 2020.  Our home is also filled with 9 dogs!

I spent my summer working for the Somerset Patriots and hanging out with my family.

Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.  Here’s to a great year!

Mrs. Krajewski

Welcome to 5th grade! My name is Jamie Krajewski. I have been teaching at RFIS since 2011.  I absolutely love teaching resource math, in class support language arts with Mr. Mack, and in class support science with Mrs. Deneka.

My husband and I have two kids. My daughter, Brielle, is 4 years old and my son, Austin, is 1 year old. They definitely keep me on my toes and we watch a lot of Disney+ in my house. I do not mind this at all since I love everything about Disney.  I have visited Disney World more than 20 times and have also been on 2 Disney cruises. It truly is my happy place!

I am looking forward to an amazing year with all of my students! If you ever need anything, please feel free to email me!

Mr. Mack

I'm Mr. Mack. I'm in my twenty-fifth year of teaching. My first five years were spent in the New York City parochial and public schools, all of them in the borough of the Bronx where I was born and raised.

I am a proud product of the New York City public schools system. I attended Music and Art High School in New York City (better known as "Fame"), studied with the Jesuits at Regis University in CO, where I received my undergraduate degree in English, and Lehman College, part of the CUNY school system, where I received my Master's degree in education.

I have a wife, Kristina, and son, Damian, who is now a 7th grader! We also have an 8 year old miniature Shetland Sheepdog name Liberty, and beautiful 18 year old black cat named Butterfly.

I love teaching Language Arts, and have a great co-teacher in Mrs. Krajewski. I also teach Social Studies with another great co-teacher, Ms. Perkins.

I study and train in the art of Northern Dragon Shaolin Kung fu (Lung Jop Pai). I am a Shifu, which means teacher in martial Mandarin Chinese, and teach Kung fu after school. The art has taught me a lot about the value of hard work and discipline in all aspects of my life. Kung fu exists in every interaction I have with other people. It's in the way I say hello to other people, and how I listen when other people are speaking. Kung fu is in everything.

I am also a Star Wars enthusiast and run the Jedi Knight Training Academy at Reading-Fleming Intermediate school. Club members learn to make lightsabers and how to use them responsibly, as well as watching some of the Star Wars movies (the good ones ha ha ha).

When I'm not teaching anything, I enjoy spending time with my family, learning more Kung fu, writing short stories, keeping up to date with the latest technological advancements, and playing the violin (well), guitar (poorly), Erhu (Chinese violin, somewhat okay--I'm just learning), and Chinese Lion Dance Drum (moderately well).

I look forward to a great year!

Ms. Perkins

Hi! Welcome to 5th grade! My name is Madison Perkins and I will be one of your child's teachers this year. I have been part of the RFIS family since 2017 but I was also student here when it was Reading-Fleming Middle School. I teach Language Arts, Math with Mrs. Deneka and Social Studies with Mr. Mack.

When I am not busy teaching, I have many hobbies that include taking my dog for a walk or a run (she loves that time!), I also love taking photos of nature and capturing life's special moments. I am also a HUGE Penn State fan as I graduated from there in 2014 and I go to as many games as I can.

I look forward to a great year of learning and trying new things! Please reach out if you have any questions.
