A sketchbook can be a lot more than just a notebook filled with drawings. It is a place to experiment with ideas, document our lives, and develop skills.
You are required to sketch in your sketchbook for at least five minutes at the beginning of class. While you wait for class to start, you should begin sketching. Drawings from your sketchbook should be uploaded once a week. You do not have to upload every sketch, but I would like to get a general idea of what your working on!
Have the tools that you need near you, like your sketchbook and fun drawing supplies. You can use supplies other than a pencil!
Don't worry about mistakes! Think about your sketchbook as a place to experiment and play with ideas and materials!
Combine observational drawing and your imagination to keep things interesting and original!
Instead of pulling out your phone to take a photo, take out your sketchbook! If it was photo worthy, it's sketchbook worthy!
Treat your sketchbook like a trusted friend! If your sad, stressed, or happy, try expressing your emotions through your sketchbook!
Make your sketchbook part of your daily routine! Even if it's only for five minutes! The more you practice, the better you get!
