Language Arts Grading Policy

Your overall grade for the class is based on your total accumulation of points for the trimester and the total points possible for the trimester. Points are earned through successful completion of the following:

• Homework

• Classwork & participation

• Independent reading assessments

• Formal writing pieces (essays & extended constructed responses)

• Digital portfolio work samples & reflections

• Projects

• Quizzes/tests

Social Studies Grading Policy

HOMEWORK

Homework is due the next block period unless told otherwise. It will be checked on a regular basis. Homework needs to be complete, not necessarily correct, but must show effort.

• You will receive full credit (5 points) for assignments that are complete and on time.

• You will receive half credit (2.5 Points) for assignments that are partially complete and on time.

• You will receive a zero (0 Points) for assignments when you do not have it in class.

Note: Homework may be turned in ONE DAY LATE for half credit, ONLY if it is fully completed. After one day, it stays a zero.

Homework (if paper-based) is to be taken out and placed on your desk before beginning your daily do-now. Homework (if digital) is to be “turned-in” via Google Classroom prior to the start of class. Some assignments will be formally scored and reviewed, while others may be solely checked for completion.
