Grading Policies

EXTRA HELP is available before or after school. All you need to do is ask, I am here to help.

Grading:

Throughout the year, there will be a variety of assignments including:

  • tests

  • quizzes

  • written assignments

  • projects/presentations

  • classwork/participation

  • homework

Grades are based on a points system.

  • Each assignment will be worth a set amount of points.

  • To figure out your grade, divide the points earned (top number) by the total possible points (bottom number). For example, a 17/20 would be an 85%.

Late Work:

Late work should still be completed as assignments are designed to help students practice necessary skills/strategies and to reinforce concepts learned.

    • homework assignments; Students may turn in late homework assignments for half credit, the following class period.

    • long-term assignments (as per student handbook), the reduction will be:

      • One letter grade for up to two (2) school days late

      • Two letter grades for up to five (5) school days late

      • Failing grade for more than five (5) school days late
