Math
Welcome to 7th Grade Math! I strive to make math fun by incorporating games and engaging activities into my lessons.
One of the many resources used in my class is the textbook Big Ideas Math. Some topics covered this year include Ratios & Proportions, Percentages, Expressions & Equations, and Integers.
The daily schedule will be posted on my website after each class. Students can use this schedule to review the day's lesson and homework assignments. When a student is absent they are expected to look at the schedule to see what assignments they missed.
Tests & Quizzes (10-60 points each)
All tests and quizzes are announced at least two days in advance. Students are always given a study guide with problems similar to those found on the assessment.
Projects (10-60 points each)
During the year students complete a variety of independent and group projects. Each project has a clear rubric and due date.
Homework (5 points each)
Homework is always due the class after it is assigned. Homework is graded using the rubric found below.
Classwork (5 points each)
During the trimester I select certain classwork assignments to grade using the rubric below. Graded classwork assignments can include worksheets, exit tickets, or notes.
Final trimester grades are determined using an accumulating points system. The total number of points earned is divided by the number of possible points. For example, if a student earned 180 points out of a possible 200 points their trimester grade would be a 90% (180 divided by 200).
