I&RS

Every school in New Jersey is required to have an intervention and referral services program to assist students who may be experiencing academic, social, or emotional challenges. Any general education student may be referred to the I&RS team. The team will collaboratively develop an action plan with strategies and interventions aimed to support the student. The I&RS team is multi-disciplinary, made up of individuals from the school who have different areas of expertise. A student’s parents or guardians are also an important part of the team and are invited to meetings to participate and share input.
