Library Policies

Library Media Center Visits:

Students visit Desmares Library Media Center on both a scheduled and an independent basis. All students visit the library media center once during the six-day cycle for instruction and book selection.

Number of Books Students May Check Out:

• Kindergarten: One (for one week)

• First Grade: One (for one week)

• Second Grade: Two (for one week)

• Third Grade: Three (for one week)

• Fourth Grade: Four (for one week)

If a student forgets a book:

If a student forgets their library book they are encouraged to bring it in the next school day to return and choose a new book.

Overdue Policy:

Students in kindergarten through fourth grade have a one-week grace period with overdue books. If students have books overdue they may not be permitted to take any new books until the overdues are returned regardless of whether they have reached their limit for their grade level.
