To select scratch disks in Photoshop, go to Edit > Preferences > Scratch Disks (Windows) or Photoshop > Settings > Scratch Disks (Mac), check desired drives (ideally fast internal SSDs or fast external SSDs with lots of space), use arrow keys to prioritize, and then restart Photoshop to apply changes, ensuring drives have plenty of free space (50GB+ recommended) for smooth performance.
