Zentangle is known too many artists and craftivists as a way to create structured designs through drawing various patterns. Sometimes mistakenly called “Zendoodling” or “tangle doodling,” Zentangling or tangling is actually a formalized process that defines itself as something other than mere doodling because of its theory and approach.
Art Therapists have identified clay and ceramics as a special way to connect with yourself. Clay helps people of all ages by fostering a sense of touch, physicality, and decision making. Because clay is a tactile and three-dimensional material it creates an internal connection by coordinating the hand with the brain. Clay can help us self-soothe and allows the artist to build, shape, and create in a free form way. Clay can enhance feelings of calmness and wellbeing by allowing the artist to interact with a piece of the earth.
