The 122 Crew

Our classroom mantra is “Everything we do is rooted in heart.” 

Throughout the day, we ground our actions in our mantra and it is a powerful guiding force.

We recite our classroom pledge to each other each morning to set our intentions and hold ourselves and others accountable. 

Kindergarteners are capable of SO much! In October, my students began to take over facilitating our morning meeting and we are making progress towards them doing it 100% on their own. 

• Students fulfill a number of different important jobs throughout the day. 

• We often vote to make classroom decisions. 

• Students are given choices about their own learning.

This is not a classroom of 1 leader and 20 followers, rather, in our classroom there are 21 family members with an important voice! 

When students are given ownership they learn “I am trusted, I am important, I belong here.”

We look forward to celebrating your child on their special day.  We ask that if your child would like to celebrate with a snack for the class that is individually wrapped/served easily. If your child has a birthday during summer vacation we will celebrate on their "half birthday" (6 months from their birthdate.)
