Hello!  My name is Monica Clift, and I am the counselor at Taylor Elementary.

After growing up in Plano, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University and my Master of Education degree in School Counseling from Lamar University.  I was a classroom teacher for 18 years before joining the Taylor family as the school counselor in 2016.  My classroom experience includes 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades in Dallas ISD, Richardson ISD, and Boca Raton, Florida as well as teaching 12 years in Frisco ISD.  In addition to teaching, I have written curriculum, served on the FISD Faculty Council, presented professional development, and most recently served on the FISD Legislative Leadership Committee. I feel honored to have been a part of the phenomenal growth this district has seen, and I am excited to continue to serve Frisco ISD as the Taylor counselor.

As the counselor, I work in concert with the whole Taylor staff to ensure that students feel cared for, capable, and connected.  A counseling program that supports social and emotional needs will ensure that our students possess the tools to be lifelong learners and productive citizens.  Through the efforts of the guidance program, I work to support all of our students' academic endeavors to help them reach their full potential.
