Hi! Welcome to the Taylor Elementary Music Page!

We’re so excited to share the joy of music with our students and families! In music class, students explore rhythm, melody, and instruments while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork skills. Whether we’re singing, playing, or moving to the beat, our goal is to help every child discover their unique musical voice and develop a lifelong love for music.

K-5 Curriculum

Every student at Taylor Elementary will receive 45 minutes of music instruction per week. Students will have the opportunity to experience music of various styles and cultures. We will listen, sing, move, and play instruments as we explore the world of music. All instruction is based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and is a blended approach with elements of the Orff/Schulwerk philosophy and the teachings of Zoltan Kodaly. Children will also have the opportunity of discovery and self-exploration of musical elements in the music classroom.
